AWAKENING

Fine Art Project, 2013

The 'Awakening' project started with the idea of complete immersion into the wilderness of the Himalayan Mountains combined with the complete immersion with my own mind.

The concept was to capture each thought I was having with a voice recorder while hiking alone in the mountains. To achieve this, I hiked the Langtang Trek in Nepal, and said everything I was thinking for 8 days. I had a lot of questions: what would I learn, what would I find, and would nature speak to me?

Awakening became a multi-media visualization of my stream of consciousness. I designed a 736-page book which was published alongside with a visual-audio installation and a dance performance at the art venue PLATOON in Berlin, Germany.
